About Chris
Christian Dyble is a multi instrumentalist, singer, and composer, born in Janesville, WI, who found his love for music at a young age watching classic fantasy films such as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and The Lord of the Rings and finding inspiration in the timeless scores of great composers such as John Williams and Howard Shore. It was here where he was first introduced to the sound of the trumpet in the roaring fanfares and themes of these movies. That had encouraged him in fifth grade to pick up the trumpet and join band; and ever since then he has not put it down. Over the years he developed a love for all different musical styles, but above all else he was most drawn to improvisational music and the deep, rich, American tradition of jazz.
After high school Chris would make his way to Appleton, WI where he would go on to win awards for his writing and arranging at Lawrence University and graduating with a B.M. in Jazz Performance and Composition. It was at Lawrence where he honed his trumpet technique studying under the expertise of Professor John Daniel, as well as expanding all aspects of his musical passion under an impressive list of jazz faculty such as José L. Encarnación, Patty Darling, Bill Carrothers, Mark Urness, Matt Turner, Tim Albright and Janet Planet. Chris now resides in Appleton where he teaches at the Appleton Music Academy and plays across Wisconsin in various groups ranging in styles playing his trumpet, piano, harmonica, and singing tunes.
